HDS Reactors

HDS Reactor Overview:

WesTech HDS circuits are designed for high density solids removal. A typical system involves several steps. These are accomplished in a series of mix tanks followed by a HiFlo™ Thickener. A typical HDS circuit would entail the following process steps:

  • The pH of the underflow is raised using lime and allowed to fully react.
  • The high pH underflow is mixed with the fresh feed and again allowed to react.
  • The mixture is settled in a thickener.
  • The underflow is recycled back for lime addition.
  • A portion of the underflow is released as waste.
