The WesTech SuperSand™ continuous backwashing filter is designed for municipal and industrial applications. It provides efficient filtration without the need for backwash supply, waste holding tanks or pumps. The systems produce an uninterrupted treated water stream, with only a minimal resultant waste stream for disposal or further treatment.  Sizes range from 15 to 900 gpm in a single tank, depending on filtration rate. Multiple common wall tank units can be assembled to any size of application. Systems are designed to be operated as either downflow or upflow filtration and can be modified per process requirements.

The SuperSand™ has no moving parts and requires minimal operator attention. The controls consist of a level transmitter coupled with a modulating effluent valve, an air control panel, and a filtrate weir to provide adjustment to the washing system. Water reuse applications are a perfect fit for SuperSand™

Tanks are available in standard painted carbon steel, aluminum, or stainless steel.
The stainless steel internal equipment can be supplied for existing or new concrete cells.
