Arizona Water Treatment Plant Project of the Year Award Includes WesTech RapiSand™ Ballasted Flocculation
Big news: The Santan Vista Water Treatment Plant’s phase II expansion has been selected as Water Treatment Plant Project of the Year by the Arizona Water Association. The plant’s expansion, which doubled its capacity from 24 MGD to 48 MGD, came online this spring, serving the fast-growing communities of Gilbert and Chandler, Arizona.
WesTech Equipment Featured in New Water Treatment Facility for Michigan’s Genesee County Communities
In the wake of the clean water public health catastrophe in Flint, Michigan, a dozen communities in Flint’s own Genesee County are now receiving drinking water from a new water treatment facility. Supplied by water from Lake Huron via the newly-built, $274-million Karegnondi Water Authority (KWA) pipeline, the $72-million Genesee County Water Treatment Plant is equipped with the latest-generation process technology, including CONTRAFAST® high-rate sludge thickening clarifiers and CenTROL® gravity filters in a cluster arrangement, designed by WesTech Engineering.
WesTech, USU, and Central Valley WRF Participate in Algal Research Grant
The Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) initiative, a technology-based economic development program funded by the state of Utah, has awarded a $175,320 grant for development of a commercial algal application in the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus from municipal wastewater. The grant, awarded by USTAR’s Industry Partnership Program (IPP) to Professor Ronald Sims, Ph.D. of Utah State University (USU), supports a unique collaboration with USU, WesTech Engineering, and the Utah Central Valley Water Reclamation Facility (CVWRF).

Philip Lake Appointed Industrial Branch Leader of WesTech Engineering

WesTech Engineering, Inc. announced today that the Board of Directors has appointed Ralph Cutler, PE, MBA, as president. Cutler, who currently serves as WesTech’s Vice President of Industrial Products and Sales, will take on the new role effective July 1. Rex Plaizier, who has been serving as both chief executive officer and president, will continue in his role as CEO.

At their annual conference award luncheon in Niagara Falls in May, the New York Rural Water Association (NYRWA) announced that Rich Ross, WesTech’s East Regional Product Manager (Municipal Market), was the recipient of the 2017 Associate Member of the Year Award, citing his dedication to small systems and support of rural water.

WesTech Engineering Employees Donate Water Purification for Haiti Victims
