WesTech Engineering Inc. has appointed Les Uhlmeyer as the leader of its new Municipal Water Treatment Business Unit overseeing the Microfloc® and General Filter product lines. Uhlmeyer has more than 30 years’ experience in the water treatment industry, spending 22 of those years in leadership positions with Microfloc and General Filter prior to the product lines being acquired by WesTech.
WesTech Relaunching Microfloc and General Filter Brands
WesTech Engineering, Inc. is reintroducing the Microfloc and General Filter brands to the municipal water treatment market. The Microfloc and General Filter brand names have had little public exposure for many years. WesTech believes that this did little to diminish their brand recognition. This brand reintroduction recognizes the solid reputation these brands hold with engineers, owners, and operators and honors their successful legacy.
WesTech to Supply the Largest Compressible Media Filter in the World
WesTech Engineering Inc., through its subsidiary WWETCO, was selected by Black & Veatch and the City of Springfield, Ohio, to design and manufacture the largest compressible media filter in the world. Installation of 100 MGD WWETCO FlexFilter™ will begin at the Springfield Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) in Springfield, Ohio, in 2013.
WesTech Acquires Microfloc and General Filter from Siemens
WesTech Engineering, Inc. announced today it has signed an agreement with Siemens Industry, Inc. to purchase the conventional water treatment business that includes the Microfloc and General Filter product portfolios. The purchase strategically complements WesTech’s ability to offer the water industry the service and products it needs to meet increasingly stringent treatment requirements and growing demand for clean water.
Biological Nutrient Removal Restores River Habitat on Long Island
WesTech Engineering, Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah, is helping to restore the river habitat of the Patchogue River and the Great South Bay by employing innovative technologies for the removal of nutrients being discharged by the Patchogue Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) located on the southern shore of Long Island in New York. As a part of this expansion and upgrade, WesTech supplied two STM-Aerotor™ Biological Nutrient Removal Systems and two 55-foot-diameter secondary clarifiers featuring the proprietary Clarifier Optimization Package (COP™) design.
